The present edition of The Havana Reporter is dedicated to the International Tourism Fair, which is taking place at the Varadero resort and whose key topic is the sun-and-beach product. This event, held at this world-renowned resort, is the perfect occasion for holding presentations and businesses with the purpose to foster Cuba’sleisure industry after two years of pandemic, because of COVID-19.
Articles on the tourism industry show Cuba’s charm in several regions of the country, from the magnetic power of the mountains and the sea of the Santiago de Cuba province – in the country’s east – to the natural beauties of Pinar del Río – Cuba’s westernmost province – in addition to the peculiarities of Camagüey, Ciego de Ávila, Trinidad, Villa Clara and Cienfuegos, among others.
This edition of the month of May also includes articles on the elimination of health restrictions for the entry to Cuba; the impact of the economic blockade imposed by the United States against the island, particularly in what regards the visit of cruiseships, and the world’s constant solidarity in favor of the lifting of the punitive measures imposed by Washington.
