The meeting was convened by the head of the legislative body, Nabih Berri in response to the request of several deputies and the objection to elections in next May for non-residents.
The Strong Republic bloc, led by the Lebanese Forces party, promoted the request for confidence in the Foreign Ministry last week, alleging complexities in the method of setting up polling stations abroad.
Representatives of the Future and Democratic Congregation groups expressed their reservations about participating in the debate, considering it populist on the eve of the elections.
Lebanese abroad will vote on May 6th and 8th in 205 centers and nearly 600 polling stations in around 50 countries.
