During the official talks with Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana on Tuesday, the president pointed out the willingness to expand the political, economic-commercial and cooperation relations between the two nations.
“You are welcome as a brother to Cuba,” the head of State said, according to the presidential website.
Diaz-Canel also highlighted during the meeting the possibility of resuming the face-to-face visits between the two nations after the control of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the prime minister expressed his pleasure of being in Cuba and thanked the Caribbean nation’s collaboration in several spheres, with emphasis on health.
Skerrit, who is on an official visit to Havana, was awarded with the Jose Marti Order, the highest decoration given by the Cuban State.
Cuba and Dominica established diplomatic relations on May 18, 1996 and they are currently fostering ties in different areas.
