According to information provided to the TASS news agency by a source, in the last 24 hours 12,700 people crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border, while of the total number of refugees, 179,900 are minors.
Among the evacuees, 272,000 are Russian nationals, 546,000 are citizens of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, and 168,000 from other states.
The Moscow security service confirmed that of these people more than 32 thousand, including 11 thousand children, are housed in almost 500 temporary reception centers in 48 regions of Russia. The rest are staying at the homes of relatives, acquaintances and privately.
The Government decided to allocate financial aid to the refugees, with almost 30,000 people having received medical care; nearly 4,000 were diagnosed with Covid-19.
For its part, the official website of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reports that more than 5.2 million people fled from Ukraine to neighboring countries and that the number is increasing.
