The metropolis intends to eradicate the transmission of the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, with more restrictions on the movement and agglomeration of residents in the municipalities, an increase in the PCR and antigen tests, and large-scale epidemiological investigations.
It will also carry out traditional Chinese medicine interventions, cleaning and disinfection in all its districts.
The authorities will proceed with these measures because the Covid-19 infection rate remains very high, although there has been a gradual decrease in the number of new patients in recent days.
In general, China has so far accumulated 14,742 deaths and 549,764 Covid-19 cases in its mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan since the disease was detected in December 2019.
A total of 249,507 asymptomatic patients are under medical surveillance.
