Over 40 Palestinians injured after Israeli repression at holy site

Ramallah, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) At least 41 Palestinians were injured this Friday during the Israeli police raid on the Esplanade of the Mosques, in the occupied area of East Jerusalem, a situation that has been repeated during the last eight days.

A Red Crescent communique stated that many of them were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Among those injured are photojournalist Ali Yassin and two other journalists, according to several sources.

Videos circulated on social media showed footages of Palestinians throwing stones against the occupying forces who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas.

The aim of the police was to disperse Palestinians gathered in the area for Friday prayers.

Since April 15, the military forces have been entering the esplanade daily to expel Muslims in order to allow the entry of Israeli settlers for the beginning of Pesach, a holiday marking the beginning of the exodus of that Israeli people.
