According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 4,428 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 3,046 of whom are suspected cases, 37 are under epidemiological surveillance and 1,345 are active cases.
Of the new cases, 276 were contacts of confirmed patients, three were infected abroad and the source of contagion could not be identified in three other cases.
At a press briefing on television, MINSAP authorities added that 316 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease, so the total number of recovered patients is 1,091,293 (99.1 percent of all cases).
Of 1,345 active cases, 1,325 are clinically stable while 20 are being treated in intensive care units: 11 in a critical condition and nine who are seriously ill.
With those statistics, Cuba has accumulated 1,101,220 contagions and 8,523 deaths since the first Covid-19 cases were reported in the country on March 11, 2020.
