The two dignitaries met on December 15, 2021 in Havana, during Arce’s first official visit to the Caribbean nation. On that occasion, they expressed their willingness to increase political dialogue and promote bilateral cooperation.
During that talk, the heads of state reaffirmed the bonds of friendship that unite both peoples, based on solidarity and mutual understanding. The Twitter account of the Cuban Presidency then reported that the leaders confirmed “the excellent state of bilateral relations.”
For his part, Evo Morales, former president of Bolivia and leader of the Movement to Socialism-Political Instrument for the Sovereignty of Peoples, also congratulated Díaz-Canel, in another tweet.
“Many congratulations, dear brother president @DiazCanelB, on your birthday! We admire your courage and loyalty in the daily struggle, together with the Cuban people, for dignity and sovereignty, and your immense solidarity to support the peoples of the world, Morales wrote on his Twitter account.
The first former indigenous ruler of the altiplano country thus joined those who congratulate this Wednesday the also first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba.
