Survey highlights popular support for Bolivian president’s management

La Paz, Apr 18 (Prensa Latina) The results of a survey published today confirm popular support for the administration of Bolivian President Luis Arce, with support above 51 percentage points.

The survey released by newspaper Página Siete states that the president has a positive image of 51.6 percent, a figure that places him as the best evaluated politician in the country.

The Bolivian News Agency recalls that after assuming the head of state in November 2020, Arce carried out a political program aimed at getting the country out of the economic crisis generated by the coup government of Jeanine Áñez, aggravated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. the Covid-19.

He also worked to overcome the political impasse resulting from the 2019 coup against Evo Morales and the subsequent wave of repression.

Arce prevailed in the 2020 general elections as the candidate of the Movement for Socialism, a process that he won in the first round with 55.11 percent of the valid votes, according to official data from the Bolivian Supreme Electoral Tribunal.

Popular support for the president is not shared with the main opposition leaders; the former presidential candidate for the Citizen Community, Carlos Mesa, has a negative image for more than 58 percent of those surveyed.

For his part, the governor of the department of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, exceeds 64 percentage points in terms of disapproval of his management.

According to Página Siete, the survey was carried out from March 25 to 30 from 800 interviews with citizens under 18 years of age with Internet access, and the confidence level is 95 percent.
