Over the past 24 hours, 18,600 people crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border, TASS news agency reported. It assured that of the total number of refugees received in the country since mid-February, more than 150,000 are children.
Among the evacuees, 200,000 are Russian citizens, more than 440,000 from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, and more than 128,000 are from Ukraine and other countries. Some 20,000 people cross the Russian border every day.
According to security services, 43 Russian regions are involved in the care of refugees and there are over 32,000 people, including nearly 12,000 minors, in 469 temporary accommodation centers.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported on its official website on Thursday that more than 4.6 million people have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries and the number is increasing.
