Inflation in Sweden hits record highs

Stockholm, Apr 14 (Prensa Latina) The Swedish Statistics Office reported today that inflation last March stood at 6.1 percent per year, the highest indicator since December 1991.

A statement from the entity adds that in monthly terms the level of inflation grew 1.7 percent from February to March.

The official of the entity Caroline Neander pointed out that this growth is due to the rise in prices on a large scale.

The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased, but the increase in energy and fuel prices caused the main impact.

According to the aforementioned office, in one year the value of fuel rose by 46.8 percent, electricity 34 percent, milk, cheese and eggs 6.8 percent, while food and alcoholic beverages rose 5.8 percent.
