This is the 14th deportation conducted in 2022, totaling 928 people returning to Cuba.
According to the Cuban immigration authorities, as many as 1,680 Cubans, from the United States, Mexico, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands, have been returned to Cuba by sea and air since January 2022.
US Coast Guard returned 695 Cubans in 18 operations, while Grand Cayman returned two and the Bahamas 55, according to an official source.
In accordance with the established protocol, the irregular Cuban deportees who arrived on Wednesday at the Havana ¨José Martí¨ International Airport were PCRed for detecting Covid-19, before being transferred to their respective provinces.
