For a clean and beautiful sea, the name of the contest is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Club and to the Blue Ocean 2022 Expedition, an initiative that promotes international understanding of the need to conserve the marine environment and the use of clean energy.
The contest will take place on May 14 and up to 30 children from the Club Náutico sailing school and relatives of the institution’s workers who are 15 years old or younger can participate, according to a publication by the entity on the social network Facebook .
The activity will include much more than the painting competition, as the participants will first take a boat tour of the Marina Hemingway aquarium, during which the crew will talk about the sea and its importance.
The drawings will be evaluated by a jury chaired by the Cuban plastic artist José Antonio Rodríguez Fuster, who will award the prizes, but all children will receive a diploma for being part of the contest.
The Blue Ocean Expedition, one of the motivations for the contest, is an open platform that connects exciting stories from the oceans with environmental projects on the planet and is organized by the Global Offshore Sailing Team (GOST), an international group of sailors from around the world.
Meanwhile, the Marina Hemingway, venue for the meeting, is the largest marina in Cuba and has, just 20 minutes from the historic part of Havana, a recreational complex with restaurants, shops and other spaces for leisure.
