Dominica and ALBA-TCP ratify commitment to regional integration

Roseau, Apr 12 (Prensa Latina) The Government of Dominica and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) ratified the commitment to work in favor of regional integration.

The Secretary General of ALBA–TCP, Sacha Llorenti, tweeted reporting on a work meeting held with the prime minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit.

In the most recent Summit of Heads of State and Government, held last December in Havana, Cuba, the countries of the ALBA-TCP highlighted the importance of working for a genuinely Latin American and Caribbean integration, in the face of the hegemonic interests of the United States and threats to peace in the region.

The Summit concluded with the approval of the Post-Pandemic Work Plan of Action, aimed at consolidating a common agenda on the economic, political and social fields, in addition to the creation of an Observatory against Interference.

Created in 2004 at the initiative of Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and Hugo Chavez (1954-2013), the integration bloc is currently made up of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Grenada.
