Monday’s agenda includes Casa de la Musica in Havana, with initiatives aimed at defending comprehensive projects of citizens’ participation and assessment, by rescuing spaces and strategies to support innovative and artisanal proposals.
The program, dedicated to Naples, will involve performers from the best traditional repertoire from Italy, as well as Cuban singer Haila Maria Mompie, Alessandro Senatore, president of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, confirmed to reporters.
The director, who has been present in Cuba for more than three decades, recalled that Neapolitan sounds were born in 1400, after the emergence of classical and popular expressions, and praised the combination of pleasure, history and roots contained in this artistic expression.
Senatore referred to the links between the agency and Cuba, aimed at the economy, health care, the audiovisual world and, more recently, the plastic arts, after the signing of agreements that enable exchanges between representatives of both nations.
From Avenida Italia (also known as Galiano Street), the events will take place to celebrate the friendship between Cuba and Italy and, in the opinion of the foreign guests, the event represents a space for solidarity and renewal of dialogue and interrelation between peoples, which were interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
