The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered that any statement must be based on facts, and insisted on finding out the truth about the impact of two missiles on Thursday, when at least 50 people were killed and 87 were wounded.
Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of the attack.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry also reiterated its position in favor of dialogue between the two countries, the continuity of peace negotiations and a political solution to the conflict that prioritizes measures to prevent a humanitarian crisis.
On the other hand, it defended relations between Beijing and Moscow, and rejected the efforts by Western media to sow discord with reports such as the one published by the US newspaper The Hill, which speculates on the possible sale of Russian territories to China as a result of the Ukrainian crisis.
