According to Cuban ambassador in China Carlos Miguel Pereira, the Chinese martial artist made these statements during a visit to the Cuban embassy in Beijing, along with intellectual Han Fangming, president of Charhar Institute, one of the most renowned Chinese think tanks.
Both Chinese figures expressed their affection and admiration for Cuba, its history and culture, while Jackie Chan presented a copy of his latest book and reported the donation of one million face masks on behalf of Charhar Institute and his own foundation.
Mr. Pereira added that Jackie Chan also recognized the work of the Cuban Wushu School and its president and founder Roberto Vargas Lee.
Jackie Chan, originally from Hong Kong, serves as president of Culture and Peace Committee at the Chanhar Institute, and as Ambassador of the UN International Children’s Fund.
