We suspended contacts with the current Government of Spain, which dissociated itself from the instrumentalization of the Sahrawi issue after recognizing a plan by Moroccan occupiers, the Front stated in a press release published by APS news agency on Sunday.
It made it clear that the decision will remain in force until Madrid complies with international law, which recognizes the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and respect for the internationally recognized borders of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
The Polisario Front again rejected Sanchez’s announcement to support the plan of Moroccan occupiers to annex the territory of Western Sahara by force, and the concrete steps taken by the Government of Pedro Sanchez in that direction.
The Spanish State owes a debt to the Sahrawi people and to the United Nations, as after being the administering power of the territory, its responsibilities do not prescribe, the document added.
The criticized Spanish decision was seen last month as a ransom payment for the migratory charter and the status of the cities of Ceuta and Melilla that Moroccan authorities played recently.
