The objective is to update tour operators and travel agents on Cuba’s tourism potentialities and new offers as a destination and consolidate the country’s positioning in the Italian market, Madelén Gonzalez-Pardo, Tourism adviser at the Cuban Embassy in Italy, told Prensa Latina.
The intention, she said, is to promote heritage cities, nature, history and culture, as well as our beautiful beaches, especially Cayo Largo del Sur and Varadero. The latter will be the venue of the 40th International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2022, scheduled from May 3 to 7.
Ambassador Mirta Granda and Gonzalez-Pardo are heading the Cuban delegation, which also includes representatives of the hotel chains Gran Caribe, Cubanacan and Islazul, and associated companies such as Melia Hotels International, Iberostar and Blue Diamond Resorts, Accord, NH, Muthu, Roc Hotels.
The travel agencies Cubatur, Viajes Cubanacán, Gaviota, Paradiso, Havanatur Italia, and Cubana de Aviación, and the main Italian tour operators related to Cuba as a destination, are also present.
BIT 2022 will be open at the Fiera Milano City Convention and Exhibition Center until April 12, with the participation of 843 exhibitors from 32 countries, including Italy.
