CEAC takes part in research led by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for an organic and inorganic assessment of rivers, lakes, reservoirs and lagoons, the 5 de Septiembre newspaper reported.
Scientists will assess the cyanobacteria proliferation risk that harm human health, CEAC´s communication department said.
Researchers from 16 regional countries add their knowledge to the IAEA project RLA7026 which focuses on strengthening governance and sustainable management of aquatic resources, said Cuban researcher Aimeé Valle.
25 million Latin American and Caribbean people are barren of drinking water services and nearly 90 million have no access to clean-up.
