The diplomat announced that in pursuit of those objectives, he held several working meetings with UN officials, among them Morris Tidball-Binz, Special Rapporteur on Extra-judicial and Arbitrary Executions; and Edgar Corzo and Pablo Garcia, president and member of the Committee on the Protection of Migrant Workers, respectively.
Constant, who also represents his country before other international organizations in Geneva, Switzerland, published on his Twitter account photos of these meetings.
He stressed that the Venezuelan Government is ready to achieve the full observance of human rights in all the committees to which it belongs.
The Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families is a body established in 2004, and its main task is to carry out periodic reviews to assess the member States.
Despite the intentional campaigns to discredit Venezuela and the constant accusations by some nations of alleged human rights violations, its Government and institutions have reiterated their commitment to the defense of those rights and are implementing programs and strategies to consolidate them in and outside the South American nation.
