Today’s program will open with the Verdarte Company, then the presentation of the members of the national jury and the contestants, and finally, a medley of Italian music by singers such as Tania Pantoja, Suset Orieta, Elain Morales and Abel Gerones.
Duets of the finalists with Cuban musicians, among them Mayito Rivera, El Nene, Pedrito Calvo, Osdalgia, Lesme, Duany Ramos, Niurka Reyes and Dagoberto Vazquez, is scheduled for Thursday.
A tribute to Cuban singer Adalberto Alvarez, known as “El Caballero del Son,” and Italian singer Rafaella Carra, as well as performances by foreign artists and winners of the San Remo Music Awards in other countries, are expected in the coming days.
The Avellaneda Hall of Havana’s Teatro Nacional will be the stage for the performances that will take place until Saturday, April 9, when the winners of the competitive contest will be announced.
In addition to the contest, the event includes business meetings, fashion shows, a culinary event and concerts in several cultural centers of Havana, to strengthen the friendship between Cuba and Italy and show the talent of young artists from the island.
