Chile is the South American country with most Chinese investments

Santiago de Chile, Apr 6 (Prensa Latina) Chile is in 2022 the country with the largest flow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from China, according to a report by a local research entity published today.

The financial movements of the Asian giant towards this nation cover areas of project development in different fields, adds the study China Investments in the Southern Cone of Latin America 2022.

Investments from the Asian nation to the South American stand out in the energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, food and finance sectors, according to research by the Chilean Sol Foundation.

China represented in 2021, as a country of origin and destination -he adds- 37.2 percent of Chilean exports and 27.3 percent of imports, to place that year with 111 percent of FDI and GDP .

For its part, Chile classified in the stage as one of the most influential in the region, especially in the fields of energy, mining, food and infrastructure, says the study.

According to Sol, China is one of the most important trading partners for countries of the Southern Cone of Latin America, in terms of imports of manufactured goods, technologies and exports of raw materials.
