Trade between Egypt and Uruguay grows

Cairo, Apr 5 (Prensa Latina) Trade between Egypt and Uruguay exceeded 493 million dollars in 2021, more than double than a year earlier, an official source reported on Tuesday.

A statement from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry detailed that fertilizers, electrical appliances, oilseeds, dairy products and wool were the most traded products.

During a meeting with Uruguayan Ambassador to Cairo Adriana Lissidini, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea stated that her country is interested in promoting the economic cooperation with Uruguay within the framework of the agreement of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), the text highlighted.

According to the report, Gamea received two official letters from Fernando Mattos, Minister of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries of Uruguay, to study the possibility of collaboration in the sectors of investment promotion and protection.
