Of the total number of refugees, more than 121,000 are children who left the country with their families in mid-February, when the bombing of the Ukrainian forces on the territories of southeastern Ukraine intensified and later after the beginning of the Russian military operation, TASS news agency reported.
Over 350 thousand came from the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, of whom more than 178 thousand are Russian citizens and about 87 thousand are Ukrainians and of other nationalities.
The main flow of people arriving in Russia passes through the border of the Rostov region from Donbass.
At the moment, about 38 Russian regions host refugees and there are 429 temporary accommodation centers.
