Many Syrians have expressed their desire to fight alongside Russian forces as a gesture of gratitude and recognition to Moscow for its support for this nation’s people and army in the war against terrorism, Al-Shibl said in an interview to BBC News Arabic.
The presidential adviser revealed that Moscow did not formally request volunteers, so the Syrian State cannot take any official action in this regard.
According to the information we have on the military operations, there is no need for volunteers at the moment, the official said.
She ratified the strong partnership between Damascus and Moscow and considered that the Syrian stance of support for Russia is firm and was taken on the basis of the interests, principles and causes shared by the two countries.
Syria has expressed since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine on February 24 its support for Moscow and its right to defend its security, and compared the media campaign against the Eurasian country to the one Syria has faced since 2011.
