Former combatants, politicians and members of social organizations participated last night in vigils around the country organized as part of the “Malvinas nos une” (Malvinas unite us) program, which includes the celebration of many initiatives on this day.
According to the planned agenda, President Alberto Fernandez will preside over an official ceremony this afternoon at the Malvinas Museum for Memory and Human Rights, where 15 former soldiers and officers will be decorated.
In addition, the flag of Argentina will be raised at the same time as in Ushuaia, Resistencia, Rosario, Malvinas Argentinas, San Carlos de Bariloche and Salta.
The program includes a mass in the Basilica of Lujan, photographic exhibitions, ceremonies in honor of the fallen and veterans, exhibitions, military parades, talks, concerts and plays, among others.
Moreover, organizations such as the Patriotic Front, the Clasista and Combative Current, the Evita Movement and Somos Barrios de Pie will march to the British embassy in Buenos Aires to demonstrate the right of Argentina over the islands.
