Security forces entered Jenin this morning to arrest a suspect involved in the attack that took place two days ago in the city of Bnei Brak, which caused six deaths, including the assailant.
As a result, a firefight broke out between the military and Palestinian militiamen, according to images from various Arab television stations.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Sanad Abu Attia, 17, and Yazid Al-Saadi, 23, lost their lives, although the media reported a third death.
Another 15 people were wounded during the operation, 14 of them by Israeli fire, the ministry said.
A statement from the Israel Defense Forces acknowledged that one of its soldiers was wounded.
“Faced with the new crime, we ordered the mobilization of all our units,” Ziad al-Nakhala, secretary general of Islamic Jihad, announced shortly after in a statement.
