On its Telegram account, Moscow’s representation in Washington rejected the recent statement by US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price, who welcomed the expulsion of Russian diplomats from several countries.
“We consider that Ned Price’s approval of the decision to expel our staff is contrary to the statements by US authorities about their commitment to diplomacy to solve global problems,” the text stated.
The Russian Embassy stressed that the line chosen by the US Government and other Western countries to exterminate Moscow’s diplomatic missions abroad confirms their impotence in defending points of view in an equitable and respectful talk.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands issued a communique on the expulsion of 17 Russian diplomats from the country.
Belgium also expelled more than 20 officials from the Moscow Embassy in Brussels.
The Governments of Poland, Slovakia, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia implemented similar measures.
