Speaking to reporters, the senior official recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin asked for proposals to be submitted to him by March 31 to help ensure the implementation of such operations.
He stressed that Russia was, is and will remain a reliable supplier of energy resources, and warned that the country is interested in selling gas.
“We are not only interested, we are sure that we have the best gas supply on the market in terms of pace of supplies, price and reliability. There is no better gas than Russian gas. All other options are worse. This is a reality,” Peskov emphasized.
He explained that foreign companies can purchase rubles with euros and dollars in order to pay for Russian gas. “That is, de facto practically nothing changes” in the operations, he stated.
The Kremlin press chief called on foreign companies to understand that the situation and environment of this market has completely changed due to the conditions of the economic war waged against Russia.
On March 23, the president announced the decision to take measures to change the currency of gas export contracts signed with countries unfriendly to Russia to rubles, in reference to those nations that have implemented sanctions against Russia.
