According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 8,400 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 4,588 of whom are suspected cases, 25 are under epidemiological surveillance and 3,787 are active cases.
Of the new cases, 609 were contacts of confirmed patients, seven were infected abroad and the source of contagion was not possible to identify in five cases.
At a press briefing on television, Minsap authorities added that 852 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease, so the total number of recovered patients is 1,076,282 (98.9 percent of all cases).
Of 3,787 active cases, 3,763 are clinically stable while 24 are being treated in intensive care units: six are in a critical condition and 18 are seriously ill.
The provinces with the highest Covid-19 incidence, with more than 100, were Mayabeque (103) and Ciego de Avila (102).
So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,088,638 contagions since the first Covid-19 cases were detected on March 11, 2020.
The death toll remained at 8,510, Minsap reported.
