According to the latest report from China’s National Health Commission, the northwestern Jilin province continues with the most complex situation and this time recorded 1,110 contagions with the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
The Commission noted that the current wave this month recorded more than 56,000 cases in 28 provinces, Jilin accumulated 29,000 and its daily statistics have not dropped below 1,000.
It also expressed concern because Shanghai, Hebei, Fujian and Liaoning maintain an upward trend and are at great risk of a community transmission of Omicron.
In general, China has accumulated at least 12,261 deaths and 445,069 contagions in its mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan since the disease, caused by the aforementioned coronavirus, was detected in December 2019.
