According to a note from the largest oil company on the island, Union Cuba Petróleo (Cupet), the distribution of diesel and gasoline to outlets has been affected in recent days, with long lines to fill auto tanks.
Cupet points out that since Sunday larger levels of fuel than usual were delivered to service centers.
He notes that it was also necessary to increase the supply to the generator sets to reduce effects on power lines caused by the disconnection of the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant as a result of a breakdown.
Despite the world economic crisis, the increase in oil prices, the intensification of the US blockade and the financial difficulties of our country, enormous efforts will continue to be made to guarantee the usual supply of fuel to the economy and the population, concludes the note.
