In his Monday´s statement, Joe Biden assured he has intelligence info on Moscow´s possible cyberattack in response to sanctions imposed by Washington and its allies as a result of the Ukraine military operation.
“To be clear, there is no certainty there will be a cyber incident on critical infrastructure,” White House deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging technology Anne Neuberger told reporters during a briefing on Monday afternoon.
Biden´s administration urged private companies to require the use of multi-factor authentication, conduct emergency drills, implement security tools for cyber threats, perform backups and to encrypt data, among other measures.
Previously, the United States accused Russia of being involved in cyberattacks Ukraine experienced against banking sector and Defense Ministry on past February, before the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
