At the ANPP headquarters, Mr. Lazo described the friendly relations between the two countries as indestructible and recalled the significance that Cuba’s historic leader Fidel Castro gave to relations with Africa.
‘We cannot forget that over 1,200,000 people arrived from Africa because of the slave trade back then. This had a very important impact on the formation of our nationality’, Mr. Lazo stressed.
Mr. Lazo thanked Guinea-Bissau for its assistance and solidarity as well as for its support in confronting the US government’s aggression, while condemning the media war on Cuba and recognizing the complex economic situation Cuba is presently facing up.
Cipriano Cassama, on the other hand, thanked Cuba for its solidarity and kindness while praising the historic relations between the two peoples.
