The elections in the country took place on March 12th with a participation of 3,362,052 people, 97.17 percent of registered voters.
The country’s authorities scheduled early elections after the former president proclaimed his desire to give way to young leaders in politics and resigned as head of state. However, he remains as president of the Upper House of Parliament.
