Their situation was confirmed on the Twitter account of the head of the General Directorate of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad (DGACCRE), Ernesto Soberon.

He explained that if conditions deteriorate, the nationals will be relocated to another secure facility by decision of the relevant authorities.

Previously, the official assured that the Cuban Consulates in several European nations and the DGACCRE will provide assistance to Cubans in Ukraine.

Cuba’s diplomatic offices in Poland, Romania, Belarus, Slovakia and Hungary will grant this aid to its nationals.

Soberon pointed out that Cuba “will guarantee, among other aspects, the continuity of the procedures already initiated in Kiev (the Ukrainian capital), other services that our nationals will need in the future, as well as the systematic exchange with them and with their relatives in Cuba.”

In addition, the Foreign Ministry shared on its Cubaminrex website the contact information of the aforementioned offices.
