On Twitter, Ernesto Soberón, Director-General of Consular Affairs and Cubans Resident Abroad (DACCRE, in Spanish), posted that the Cuban embassies in Warsaw and Minsk are keeping abreast of the Ukrainian situation.
Mr. Soberón also added that both Cuban embassies sent verbal notes to the corresponding local authorities reiterating the harsh situation of Cuban citizens, including minors.
“Negotiations continue to be conducted with respective counterparts, in view to easing the safe transfer of these people, guaranteeing their protection and physical integrity,” Mr. Soberón live-tweeted.
MINREX recently reported that both Cuban embassies will provide information and consular services to those who require them, in reference to the arrival of Cuban citizens to Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary, from Ukraine.
