We want to increase the work with the Horn of Africa’s States to contribute to facing the challenges of security, development and governance, with the aim of promoting a path of individual and regional unity and improvement, Bin said in Addis Ababa.
We have a lot of work to do in order to achieve stability and economic growth, although in the latter aspect, we are moving forward with railroad and port development strategies, the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the agreements from the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, he noted.
According to Xue, “Ethiopia should play a constructive role in the promotion of peace and economic integration in the Horn of Africa, as its performance is fundamental in the region for different reasons.”
China’s Special Envoy for the Affairs in the Horn of Africa, Xue Bing, who is also a diplomat with work experience in Africa, the Americas and Oceania, made the remarks during a meeting with Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen in Addis Ababa on Monday.
