According to a Government communique, Xi invited Yoon to take advantage in 2022 of the 30th anniversary of the bilateral relations to also promote the partnership between the two nations for the benefit of their peoples.

“Since the establishment of the diplomatic ties, our relations have achieved fast development (?) and marked positive contributions to peace, development and prosperity in the region and the world,” the Chinese president added, considering that the two nations are close neighbors and important partners.

Yoon Suk-yeol achieved 48.56 percent of the vote in Wednesday’s presidential election and won with a margin of less than 0.73 points over Lee Jae-myung, of the former ruling Democratic Party, who gained 47.83 percent of the ballots.
