Speaking at the PCC Provincial Assessment Assembly in Pinar del Rio, Cuba’s westernmost province, the Cuban president insisted that each municipality have strong production systems to gain autonomy and where resources are used properly.

Diaz-Canel urged to delve into the efficiency of the companies and the costs of products, and said that “it is up to the Party to get involved in that battle.”

On other matters, he recalled that the processes of political construction in socialism go through the development of revolutionary consciousness and in this regard, he highlighted the need to develop an anti-imperialist attitude among PCC members and the people.

He called for analyzing the existing contradictions in the country and acting on the causes to resolve them.

“Socialism is to achieve the greatest possible social justice, everything that violates that is against that purpose,” he said, according to the Presidency’s Twitter account.

Diaz-Canel emphasized the real and objective participation of PCC members for the proper functioning of the organization, while defending the exemplary and combative nature of the members of the political organization.

“We must avoid bureaucratic methods, indifference, insensitivity and selfishness,” “we have to grow as a Party in all spaces”, he added.

In addition, he stressed that the youth has to be taken into account for unity and continuity in the Revolution.
