The report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) stated that 7,351 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 4,890 of whom are suspected cases, 34 are under epidemiological surveillance and 2,427 are active cases (102 more than those reported on Thursday).
Of 586 cases, 568 were contacts of confirmed patients, nine were infected abroad and the source of contagion was not possible to identify in nine cases.
At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that 483 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease, so the total number of recovered people is 1,064,627 (accounting for 99 percent of all cases).
Of the active cases, 2,414 are clinically stable while 13 are being treated in intensive care units: six are in a critical condition and seven are seriously ill.
With those figures, Cuba has accumulated 1,075,616 contagions and 8,503 deaths since the first Covid-19 cases were detected on March 11, 2020, exactly two years ago.
