Mr. Rodríguez added he held a meeting on Thursday with his Chilean counterpart Antonia Urrejola, to whom he reiterated his congratulations as new Foreign Minister.
The Cuban foreign minister leads a delegation to participate on Friday in the presidential inauguration in Chile, where the President-Elect Gabriel Boric will take office.
Upon his arrival on Wednesday, Mr. Rodríguez reaffirmed his country´s purpose of “fostering the historical relations that unite our nations.”
Mr. Boric, 36, will become youngest president in the history of Chile, after winning Dec., 2021 run-off.
Government program plans to strengthen the State, change current pension system, raise taxes on the richest and to guarantee universal health system.
