Around 05:00 local time on Monday, Israeli enemy fighters entered the airspace south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and fired several missiles at points near Damascus, according to the statement.
The anti-aircraft defense batteries shot down most of the missiles, however, the impact of the remaining ones left material losses and two civilians dead.
The last Israeli attack against Syria was reported on February 24th and left three soldiers dead in the vicinity of the Syrian capital.
The Syrian Government condemned these actions and deplored the silence of the United Nations before them, as well as ratified the right to defend the integrity and sovereignty of the national territory by all legitimate means.
