Unlike last January, when more than 40,000 positive tests were reported daily, there has been a downward trend for the last six weeks, according to a new report by the Ministry of Health. The number of people hospitalized in intensive care has also decreased.
The portfolio headed by Carla Vizotti reported for the sixth consecutive week a decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases and recalled that in the second week of January the country had the maximum peak of infected people during the whole pandemic, with more than 800 thousand cases.
Since then, a decline began, and in the last epidemiological week there was a 96.83 percent drop with respect to the peak, the ministry pointed out.
By March 4, Health authorities reported that 83,258 active cases were registered, which represents 0.93 percent of the total number of cases to date since the virus broke out in the country in March 2020 (8,929,898).
In terms of therapy beds, today it stands at 39.5 percent at national level and 40 percent in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.
