Speaking Friday at the flag-raising ceremony of the new ferry Marshal Rokossovsky, the president urged the other countries not to aggravate the situation and not to impose new punitive measures against Russia.
“I would like to stress once again: we have no unfriendly intentions towards our neighbors and I advise them also not to aggravate the situation or impose restrictions. We are fulfilling all our obligations and will continue to do so,” he said, according to an official note.
The head of state called on neighboring nations to think about normalizing relations, in addition to cooperating and developing relations on a regular basis.
Referring to the new ferry, he said that such projects increase the country’s logistical independence, so Moscow will continue to support them.
Putin said that the refusal of some foreign partners to develop cooperation with Russia causes some damage, but clarified that the scheduled tasks will be executed anyway.
“We will have to postpone some projects a little bit, acquire additional competences, as we did before for a number of projects, including in aviation,” Putin acknowledged. He added that in that case the country will benefit. “We are capable of solving such problems,” he emphasized.
