The 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference opened the meeting with the usual presentation of the report about the body’s management and pending issues to optimize its work.
According to reports, the focus of discussions will be on this year’s growth target, as the country moves toward carbon neutrality, optimizing the epidemiological control measures, increasing the social welfare and responding to the global complexities.
The consultants will examine the internal and external challenges stemming mainly from the Covid-19 pandemic and now the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which could hinder the progress of the world’s second-largest power.
The participants in the event will also review the policies to ensure stability in areas such as defense, employment, industrial supply chain, public health and food safety.
The advisors’ meeting will run through March 10 with their delegates being interviewed by video link or in writing.
