Deputy Mohammed Jary, head of the friendship group, described the donation as a highly valued solidarity action since it challenges and breaks the blockade imposed by the United States and its allies against Syria.
“Our sincere respect and appreciation to Cuban scientists for their achievements and contributions to humanity,” the legislator told Prensa Latina after the meeting.
He specified that the Syrian health authorities highlighted the effectiveness of the Cuban vaccines, which arrived at a time when the blockade prevents the arrival of food and medicine to the Syrian population.
Ahmad Bousel, deputy of the United Communist Party of Syria, made similar statements describing Cuba’s gesture as an internationalist action that reflects its policy of solidarity and the excellent friendship with Syria.
