In a communiqué, Argentina specified that within the framework of the collaboration actions carried out by Celac member countries, Argentina highlights the initiative proposed by Peru to address in a coordinated way the assistance to its citizens through consular cooperation.
The chancelleries of Argentina, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Brazil are already coordinating the resources of their consular representations, with the purpose of advancing in implementating an evacuation plan, only when the security conditions be created, said the note.
It also adds that embassies and consulates of Celac member nations in Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and other neighboring countries are in permanent communication as well as their respective consular affairs departments.
The pro tempore presidency of Celac continues to negotiate with the member governments the most efficient way to handle those cases that require urgent attention.
The day before, a technical meeting was held in which officials from several Latin American foreign ministries exchanged information and agreed to work together.
Work is underway to consolidate the contact details of the Latin American Consular Cooperation Network, concluded the communiqué.
