It is for this reason that the president of VW, Herbert Diess, decided to create a crisis committee to assess the consequences of the lack of supply of materials.

Eastern Europe is an important market for Volkswagen, which is second only to Toyota in the world.

Last year, all the brands of the German consortium sold 660,000 vehicles in Eastern Europe.
